Meet Tattoo Artist Carlos

Channelling his rich history from Guerrero, Mexico, Carlos is a realistic tattoo artist at Black Lines Studio specializing in vivid colour expressionism.

An Artistic Career Rooted in Mexican Heritage

Born in the Guerrero area of Mexico, Carlos has always been connected to the cultural significance his hometown dedicates to vibrant artwork. He says it is this background that has steered him onto the path of artistry from the very beginning.

Since the age of 16, Carlos has been refining his body tattoo skills; expressing his ideas and emotions onto skin canvases through his coil. However, it wasn’t until he studied at the Art School in Mexico City that his profession and career in the tattoo services industry truly began.

Since graduating, Carlos has been at the forefront of finetuning both surrealism and realism tattoo specs. While he is an artist in all his forms, able to master dot work, black and grey storytelling, and so much more, his specialism is in the portrayal of surreal and realistic tattoo designs with ink pigment.

Mastering Realism And Surrealism Tattoo Art Forms

Where Carlos was born - the western part of Mexico, in the Guerrero area - it has a full and vivid history dating back to 300 B.C. As a remnant of the ancient Aztec empire, Guerrero has been an inspiration for Carlos’ artwork alongside the neighbouring Olmec culture whose famous “Colossal Heads” is a spark for his surrealist expressionism.

Carlos simplifies the world of complex body art in Canada by helping the client mirror inner landscapes. He masters body tattoo art through unexpected pairings combining elements that create a moment of surprise and stimulate the imagination. From the human form to an emotional-fuelled discovery into the portrayal of human beauty in robotic, hellish, mythical, animalistic, or time-warped distinction.

With ink and skin, he paints a vivid canvas of colour as well as radiant black and grey. Carlos can express the voice of his clients through any tattoo art form; to have your voice expressed through the medium of body artwork, contact the studio and book an appointment with Carlos.
